Georgia increases construction material imports from Azerbaijan
Georgia increased the import volume of Azerbaijan
Around 139,280 metric tons of construction gypsum and other anhydrite totaling $23.84 million were imported from Azerbaijan to Georgia during this period or by 23.2 percent more than in the same period of last year. For comparison, around 113,090 metric tons of building materials in the amount of $20.47 million were imported to Georgia in January-November 2013.

Around 15,500 metric tons of cement in the amount of $1.338 million were exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in January-November 2014. Around 6,460 metric tons of cement products in the amount of $524,200 were exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in the same period of last year.

Around 86,440 metric tons of iron rods in the amount of $53.5 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan during this period. Around 59,850 metric tons of iron rods in the amount of $37.53 million were exported to Azerbaijan in the same period of last year.
The share of construction materials in Azerbaijan’s total export volume to Georgia for the period amounted to 4.45 percent.

Georgia imported goods worth $565.89 million from Azerbaijan in January-November 2014.
According to the report, Georgia’s volume of imports from Azerbaijan increased by 1.8 percent during a year. For comparison, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $555.81 million in January-November 2013.

Azerbaijan ranks third in the list of the countries from which Georgia imports products. The share of Azerbaijan`s exports in a total volume of goods imported into Georgia is 7.3 percent.
Georgian imports most of goods from Turkey. The volume of Georgia’s imports from Turkey totaled $1.6 billion in January-November 2014 or 20.1 percent of a total import volume. China ranks second with $673.76 million (8.7 percent).
