EITI decision will play key role in funding of TANAP and TAP - EBRD
On October 26, the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) will hold a meeting on Azerbaijan in Astana, Kazakhstan. The decision to be made in the meeting will play a key role in funding of TANAP and TAP by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Riccardo Puliti, EBRD Managing Director for Energy said, AzVision.az reports citing Anadolu agency.
Riccardo Puliti said that the EBRD has supported the Southern Gas Corridor project since its implementation started.

Speaking about loans allocated by the bank for Shaheniz 2 and SCPX project, the managing director added: “We are currently working on funding of the TANAP and TAP. However, no final decision was made regarding both projects. We intend to allocate $600 million and $900 million relevantly for TANAP and TAP. As for EITI meeting, as we know this organization evaluates transparency of those working in indusial sphere. We see progress in Azerbaijan in this issue and believe that it will continue. The point I mentioned is one of the factors to affect our decision”.
