Georgian president pardons over 80 prisoners
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has pardoned 84 prisoners, head of the Pardon Commission Zviad Koridze told reporters at a special briefing on Dec.30.
He said the pardoning is timed to the New Year.

Alongside with 24 people whose sentences were reduced, all the pardoned will leave Georgian correctional institutions on Dec.30, said Koridze.

One woman and one teenager are among the pardoned.

In total, the commission reviewed 500 applications for pardoning.
