Syrian premier calls for expansion of economic and trade ties with Iran
Syrian premier called for expansion of economic and trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria Arab News Agency said on Monday, IRNA reported.
Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi in a meeting with head of Iran-Syria economic cooperation committee Rostam Qassemi expressed hope that the economic and trade relations between Iran and Syria would further expand in parallel with excellent political ties.

He said that the progress made to develop economic and trade ties between the two countries indicated desires of both sides to develop economic cooperation in all fields.

The premier appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iranian leadership for support for Syrian people and government and added that Iran`s support for strengthening resistance of Syrian people to terrorism had been very effective so that they could resist to the US and Israeli plots and neutralize the western conspiracies.

Al-Halqi called visit of Qassemi and accompanying delegation to Damascus as a sign to implement past bilateral agreements and invited Iranian companies, businessmen and investors to participate in development and reconstruction projects in Syria.
