The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will continue the transit of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline if necessary, the head of the company, Rovnag Abdullayev, told reporters.
He said according to the current contract, the parties should notify each other six months earlier on any changes.
The head of SOCAR also said that transportation will take place in accordance with the existing agreement by the end of this year. The parties will hold a series of meetings in order to negotiate commercial terms of the transit of Azerbaijani oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
SOCAR will continue transportation if it is necessary", Abdullayev said.
