"The Iraqi prime minister is insulting me, first know your limits," he added.
Turkey and Iraq have summoned each other`s ambassadors in a mounting diplomatic stand-off and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi warned Turkey that it risked triggering a "regional war" by keeping troops in Iraqi territory.
The Turkish president then spoke about terrorism.
“Have you ever heard of notions like Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, or atheist terror? Acts of terrorism committed by adherents of these religions are seen as ordinary crimes. But when a terrorist attack is committed by a Muslim, they call it ‘Islamic terror.’ The media plays a big role such a depiction. We should assert our stance against such cases,” he said.
Erdogan also touched on the US Congress’s approval of the bill allowing citizens to file a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia over the 11 September attacks, saying that he as president of the country chairing the OIC has written letters to the presents of 56 member countries.
“We also can pass a law holding the US responsible for the terrorist act committed in a Muslim country by a US citizen. Crime is an individual issue. US citizens are submitting to courts lawsuits against Saudi Arabia. The purpose is to win money from Saudi Arabia. President Obama is secluded about this issue. The OIC, which has brought together 56 Islamic countries, should state a common position against this decision which is in fact aimed against Muslims,” he added.
