Russia, Germany agree to continue contacts regarding situation in Ukraine
Foreign Ministers of Russia and Germany - Sergei Lavrov and Frank Walter-Steinmeier - speak for fixing positive tendencies in the Ukrainian settlement after the meeting of political directors under the Normandy format, which took place on January 5.
“The ministers exchanged views on results of the meeting of political directors of foreign ministries of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine in Berlin on January 5, and regarding the current situation in Ukraine’s south-east,” the Russian Foreign Ministry reported following a telephone conversation of ministers. “They confirmed it necessary to fix the emerging positive tendency in peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis by observing the truce, continuing exchange of prisoners, settlement of humanitarian problems in the region, and by immediate beginning of true constitutional reform featuring Ukraine’s all regions and political forces.”
