Another section of main Gori-Kareli gas pipeline constructed
The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation has constructed a 20-kilometer section of the Gori-Kareli main gas pipeline.
A 500-mm section was replaced by 700-mm pipes at this section. This increased the capacity of the gas pipeline, the corporation told Trend Jan. 7.

Turkish company ‘Energy Gas Heating Systems Construction Industry TIC. LTD. STI. STI’ won the international tender. It was involved in the construction operations.

The Gori-Kareli section was constructed as part of the fourth phase of the rehabilitation project of East-West gas pipeline, financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Oil and Gas Corporation built two more sections of the gas pipeline in 2014.

These are a 23-kilometer Zestafoni-Kutaisi section and a 25-kilometer Rustavi-Sagarejo section.

At present, a 24-kilometer section Red Bridge – Marneuli is being constructed. It will be completed in February 2015.
