Scientists-nuclear experts express their concern to Sargsyan on Metsamor NPP
Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan accepted the delegation of scientists which arrived in Armenia to participate in a scientific symposium - `Days of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Armenia` headed by the director of institute, the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, academician Victor Matveev, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian Media.

As reported by governmental administration of the Armenian president, the symposium takes place on October 19-22 in Yerevan and is devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Joint institute of Nuclear Research and the 25 anniversary of membership of Armenia at Institute.

Sargsyan welcomed guests and higlighted the importance of the international symposium in Yerevan which the famous scientists from 17 member states of the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research, the high-ranking guests, heads of diplomatic missions of member states of Institute gathered under the same roof.

In a meeting with Serzh Sargsyan representatives of Institute have brought to his attention their concern regarding the Metsamor NPP.

`Operation of the Metsamor NPP based on outdated technologies poses a serious threat to the region and it is necessary to take this issue seriously`, they noted.

Staff of institute also expressed their concern regarding the information on smuggling of nuclear materials from Armenia.
