“Russia and Azerbaijan carry out independent and sovereign policies on international scale,” Abdulatipov said.
Abdulatipov also thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Russia.
“On behalf of Russia, I would like to thank Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev,” he said. “When international sanctions were imposed [on Russia], Azerbaijan did not support them and acted as a real friend.”
