Islam Karimov: Uzbekistan not to join USSR-like unions

Islam Karimov: Uzbekistan not to join USSR-like unions

Uzbekistan will never join unions like former USSR, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said in his speech at the first session of the parliament

According to the president, there are attempts to return to the former Soviet Union system in some countries.

“Some foreign TV channels praise the times of Lenin and Stalin as well as the USSR period. He said that such approach is not for Uzbekistan.

Islam Karimov said that Uzbekistan selected own way of development. Uzbekistan will not depend from others, he added.

“According to the country’s foreign policy concept in 2013, no military basses can be established in the territory of Uzbekistan”.
