Petition on Karabak gains 100.000
Petition on Karabakh on White House website scores the required votes
A petition aimed at drawing the attention of administration of president Barack Obama to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenian armed forces was posted on the official website of the US White House in `We the People` column.
The petition has gained the required 100,000 signatures.
"Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has become one of the most terrible tragedies of the 20th century and had a negative impact on the lives of millions of Azerbaijanis.
As a result of this conflict, the armed forces of Armenia occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, nearly a million of refugees were forced to flee their homes.
The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on the unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands, but Armenia does not fulfil the requirements of these resolutions, as the Minsk Group co-chair the OSCE should be more active in this issue," the petition says.
