Looking back at the progress achieved during this period, 178 kilometers of the pipeline’s route has been cleared, 102 kilometers of pipes has been strung and 70 kilometers of pipes have been welded so far, TAP said on Twitter.
Recently, the work for the rehabilitation of access roads and bridges in one of the most remote areas of Albania’s Korca region was completed as part of the implementation of the TAP project.
TAP project has upgraded or built approximately 15.5 km of roads and 9 bridges, connecting the remote mountainous areas of Korca with the urban centers.
TAP is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor which is one of the priority energy projects for the EU.
TAP project envisages transportation of gas from the Stage 2 of development of Azerbaijan`s Shah Deniz gas and condensate field to the EU countries.
The 870-kilometer pipeline will be connected to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) on the Turkish-Greek border, run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Italy`s south.
