Erdogan rule could be extended until 2029 - media
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) signalled their support for a controversial proposal to amend the constitution and allow the current Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to stay in office until 2029.
Officials have also said the post of prime minister would be abolished, and the president would have two deputies as well as greater power to enact executive policies, the Guardian reports.
