Azerbaijan strategic partner for Romania
Romanian National Culture Day celebrated in Azerbaijan on January 15, 2015.
The event started at 11.00 a.m. with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument of Romanian composer George Enescu in Baku, the Romanian embassy told.

Ambassador of Romania, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, city authorities, Azermarka company, culture figures, journalists, members of Romanian community in Azerbaijan and a large public took part in the event.

Ambassador Ciobanu highlighted that Azerbaijan is a strategic partner for Romania. Romania was the second country to recognize independence of Azerbaijan back in 1991 and since then bilateral political dialogue and economic cooperation have become increasingly strong and significant. The diplomat also noted that Romania is a strong supporter of further development of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO and European Union, underlying that Embassy of Romania is currently fulfilling its fourth mandate as NATO Contact Point Embassy in Azerbaijan, to last until the end of 2016. Ambassador pointed out that Romanian culture is very appreciated in Azerbaijan.
