Turkish military says contact lost with 2 soldiers during Operation Euphrates Shield
The Turkish military said late Tuesday that all connection was lost with two soldiers during Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria.
Brigadier General Ertuğrulgazi Özkürkçü, the press spokesman of the Turkish Armed Forces said in the statement that the contact was lost at 3:30 p.m. He also added that search operations were underway for the two missing soldiers in the area.

Earlier in the same day, the Daesh terrorist group claimed via its affiliated Amaq News Agency that it captured two Turkish soldiers. No confirmation of this claim has been given by the military yet.

Operation Euphrates Shield, which began on Aug. 24 backed by the Turkish Armed Forces, is aimed to bolster border security, support coalition forces, and eliminate the threat posed by terror organizations, especially Daesh.
