Turkey fails to get rid of energy dependence
Turkey is unable to get rid of energy dependence on other countries, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was quoted Jan. 21 by Sabah newspaper as saying.
He said that Turkey has limited oil and gas resources.

“Despite the limited natural resources, Turkey could become an energy bridge between the countries rich in hydrocarbons and the countries having a need for them,” the president said.

President Erdogan said that Turkey could become an energy bridge between the countries and has great importance for the country.

Turkey is actively searching for oil fields to reduce dependence on oil product supplies from abroad. The hope was pined on oil exploration in the region of Sinop in 2012. But no results were achieved.
