Georgia, US discuss regional security
The Secretary of the Council for Security and Crisis Management of Georgia Davit Sujashvili discussed cooperation in regional security during a meeting with US Ambassador Richard Norland, the press service of the Georgian government told on Jan.21.
“We discussed a wide range of issues that are of great interest in terms of security and international relations for both Georgia and the US,” Norland said. “It was quite a fruitful meeting and I hope that these relations will continue.”

The diplomat said that Georgia and the United States are strategic partners, and the US will try to help Georgia wherever it is possible.

He said that Georgia needs to maximize the use of diplomacy and international relations.

In turn, Davit Sujashvili said that cooperation of the country with the United States on security issues is of paramount importance.

“I believe that today we have had a very fruitful meeting,” he said. “We discussed issues of our interest, the situation in the region, global processes.”
