Syria wants Moscow meeting on Syrian crisis successful
Syria will exert all possible efforts to ensure a meeting in Moscow over the Syrian crisis a success, Syria`s Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said, Xinhua reported.
In an interview with the state-run al-Ekhbaria TV, the minister said it was a direct order from President Bashar al-Assad.

"In Moscow the meeting is between the Syrians ... and the goal is clear, which is the Syrian-Syrian dialogue," he said.

The Russia-mediated meeting, to be held at the end of this month, aims to help the Syrian government and opposition parties restore political talks to end the long-running conflict.

The meeting comes almost a year after previous political talks between the government and the opposition totally faltered in Geneva.

"The situation in Moscow is different ... there are opposition figures that have been invited individually," al-Moallem said in his Tuesday interview.

He also noted that some countries do not want to see a successful Moscow conference, adding that the meeting could fail if the opposition parties succumbed to the Western orders.
