Production volume at Azerbaijan’s largest gas field announced
Some 78.4 billion cubic meters of gas and 19.6 million tons of condensate have been produced so far at the Shah Deniz, Azerbaijan’s largest gas condensate field, since the start of the field’s development in 2006, Khoshbakht Yusifzade, first vice president of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, said in his article posted Jan. 18 in the country’s official press.
He said that the average of 29.5 million cubic meters of gas and 6,500 tons of condensate is daily produced at eight operating wells of the field.

Yusifzade wrote that to date, Azerbaijan has exported 5.9 billion cubic meters of gas to Georgia and 43.8 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey via the South Caucasus Pipeline.

“Four million cubic meters of gas are daily exported to Georgia and 18.5 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey within the first stage of development of the Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas condensate field,” said the article.

The contract for development of the Shah Deniz offshore field was signed on June 4, 1996. The field`s reserve is estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.

The shareholders are: BP, operator (28.8 percent), AzSD (10 percent), SGC Upstream (6.7 percent), Petronas (15.5 percent), Lukoil (10 percent), NICO (10 percent) and TPAO (19 percent).
