PACE president re-elected for second term
Anne Brasseur was elected Jan. 26 for a second term as the president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Tass news agency reported.
Her candidacy was the only one as none of the MPs ran for the position.

Brasseur started working at PACE in 1993. She headed the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the PACE from 2009.

In the summer 2012, Brasseur prepared a resolution approved by the PACE on the democratic transfer of power in Tunisia.

The PACE head’s term of office is one year, renewable once for a year. Thus, in January 2016, the PACE will elect a new president.
