Armenia may postpone parliamentary elections because of April battles
The issue on changing the date of the Armenian Parliamentary Elections can be reviewed, the Republican Party (RPA) spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told to journalists.
Armenia`s next parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 2 according to the norms of the Armenian Constitution. However, this day is a black day for Armenia. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces destroyed the defense line of the Armenian side as a result of counter-attack carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on April 2. The Armenian side suffered serious losses. Therefore, some political powers expressed their complaints about the date of the elections.

`If all political powers want, it is likely to change cancel the elections. There is no obstacle for the Republican Party, if the political powers agree with delaying the elections by 2-4 days. We are ready to discuss this issue with all political powers,` Sharmazanov told after the meeting ot the Supreme Council.

Several generals of Ministry of Defense of Armenia were dismissed and arrested as a resut of the April battles. Finally, Seyran Ohanyan, Defense Minister of Armenia resigned.
