Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss cooperation prospects
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey Elmar Mammadyarov and Mevlut Cavusoglu met on Jan. 29. They appreciated the bilateral cooperation level between the two countries, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said Jan. 29.
The meeting was held as part of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, to be held in Ashgabat Jan. 29.

It was stressed at the meeting that the Azerbaijani president’s visit to Turkey on January 14-15 2015 opens up new opportunities for cooperation.

The sides also stressed the importance of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.

The ministers exchanged views on regional and global issues.

Ashgabat will host a meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan Jan. 29. This is the second meeting in this format.

The first meeting was held in Baku in 2014. The Baku declaration was adopted following the meeting.

The cooperation between the three countries covers a wide range of issues, including power engineering, tourism, humanitarian sphere and politics.

There are such formats of the meetings as Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia and Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran.

The summits of foreign ministers and presidents of these countries were held.
