Criminal case launched over Armenians killing Hasan Hasanov
Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov has taken over the special control of investigating the criminal case
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General has taken over the special control of investigating the criminal case over the Azerbaijanis being held hostage in Armenia.

Spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office, Eldar Sultanov, said that despite being civilians who do not participate in combat operations and are not members of the conflict side’s armed forces, Dilgam Asgarov, Shahbaz Guliyev, and Hasan Hasanov were taken hostage by the servicemen of the occupying country while they were in the territory of Armenian-occupied Kalbajar District to visit the graves of their close relatives.
While in hostage, they were tortured, imprisoned in an way contrary to the norms of international law, deprived of their procedural rights, whereas Hasanov was deliberately murdered with a firearm. The so-called Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which is not recognized by any country, ultimately brought false charges against Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev.

All necessary investigative measures concerning the criminal case launched by the Kalbajar District Prosecutor’s Office over the aforementioned facts continue under the Criminal Code’s articles 115.2 (Infringement of laws and customs of war), 115.4, 116.0 (Infringement of norms of the international humanitarian right during confrontations) and 116.0.18.
