SOCAR increases gas price for Georgia
Socar Georgia Gas company increases the cost of natural gas for commercial consumers of Georgia, the company said Feb. 3.
"There was a need to adjust the price of natural gas for consumers of Georgia’s private sector given the volume of natural gas imports and changes in the national currency rate - lari versus US dollar," a statement says.

Socar Georgia Gas sets the price on a cubic meter of natural gas at a rate of 90 tetri (including VAT) for commercial customers of all categories (except bread baking plants) from March 1, 2015, the statement says.

Georgia’s national currency rate decreased from 1.75 to 2 lari / $ 1 for two months.

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is engaged in the gas distribution and petroleum products in Georgia. It also owns several filling stations.
