Political challenges don’t affect TANAP implementation – general manager
The construction of TANAP is taking place faster than planned, general manager of TANAP Saltuk Duzyol told Al Jazeera TV channel.
According to him, the natural gas will be transported to Europe via TAP in 2020 and the political challenges don’t affect implementation of these projects.

TANAP is the central ring of gas pipeline chain in the length of 3,500 km stretching from Baku to Italy. We name it the Southern Gas Corridor and it costs $40 billion. Success of the project depends on successes of its components. TANAP attaches a critical importance. TANAP will meet Turkey’s gas demand in the future years. At the same time, the project will serve Azerbaijan’s strategic interests in the long-term perspective. Generally, despite the hardships, the construction works continue quickly. In fact, we plan to complete out works sooner and transport gas to Europe in mid-2019. However, we don’t believe TAP will be completed by this time. Therefore, we predict gas transportation to Europe starting 2020”, Duzyol said.
