Azerbaijan, North Ossetia sign cooperation agreement
Azerbaijan and the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania intend to expand economic cooperation, the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Ossetia
He made the remarks Feb. 3 at an Azerbaijani-Russian business meeting held in Baku.

Takoyev said that the agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, signed by the parties during today’s meeting, is a framework agreement.

“The agreement makes it possible to establish direct cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of North Ossetia,” he added.

He noted that the agreement stipulates the development of relations in various areas, naming among them the construction materials production, realization of logistics projects, introduction of IT-technologies, and expansion of cultural ties.

He also pointed out the tourism sector, which has been in recent years actively developing in the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania.

He added that the trade turnover between the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania and Azerbaijan stood in 2014 at about $1 million.

“There is a great potential to increase this figure, and we will use it,” he noted.

Azerbaijan’s Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev, for his part, highlighted the close ties of Azerbaijan with Russia’s federal subjects.

“Azerbaijan signed cooperation agreements with 78 subjects of the federation, and with four of them there are intergovernmental commissions,” said Mustafayev.
