Azerbaijan, UNESCO sign agreement
Azerbaijan and UNESCO signed an agreement on holding the tenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The agreement was signed by the UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev.

It should be noted that in December, Baku will host the eighth session of the Intergovernmental Committee.

Garayev noted at the signing ceremony that Azerbaijan has always worked closely with UNESCO, and the activities of the organization are in the focus of the Azerbaijani society.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to UNESCO for the attention given to the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.

He also expressed his gratitude for the confidence and opportunity to hold the tenth session of the Committee in Azerbaijan, noting that Azerbaijan will seriously prepare for this session and hold it at a high level.

Irina Bokova expressed her gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for agreeing to host the tenth session of the Committee. She noted that the cooperation between UNESCO and Azerbaijan will continue at a high level and expand in the future. She also added that the organization led by her will continue to support Azerbaijan.
