Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was then prime minister, said on the eve of the presidential election in August 2014 that Turkey must pass to the presidential form of government.
“This can benefit the country’s further development,” he said.
President Erdogan said that the issue will be raised after the presidential election.
At present, the legislative power in Turkey belongs to the unicameral parliament - the Grand National Assembly.
