EU ready to take new steps against Russia if situation in Ukraine worsens
The European Union has started actively working on a broad spectrum of measures to stimulate the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Russia Vygaudas Usackas told Interfax.
"The European Union is ready to take further measures if the situation gets worse, the third element of the decisions taken by Ministers last week," Usackas said when asked whether the EU could expand its sector economic sanctions against Russia and whether Russia could be disconnected from SWIFT, i.e. the global interbank telecommunication system.

"Therefore work has started to prepare any appropriate action that from the EU`s side can be taken in view of ensuring the implementation of the Minsk agreement. Next steps will depend on developments on the ground," he said.
