Speaking about the role of communications and high technologies in the successful development of active cooperation between Azerbaijan and UN, Ali Abbasov stressed the implementation of a number of projects within the framework of cooperation. Noting Azerbaijan-UN relations based on the principles of reliable partnership, the Minister expressed his confidence in further deepening of the relationship, during the tenure of A. Brook in Azerbaijan.

He is closely following the reforms in the country, Mr. Brook said, expressing satisfaction with taking forward the information and communication technologies ICT as a priority factor in the economic development of the country.

UN official highly appreciated the works carried out in the field of high technologies in the direction of diversification of Azerbaijan’s economy.

Stressing the dynamic and large-scale partnership of the Government of Azerbaijan with the development program of UN, A. Brook noted creating a solid foundation for future cooperation by strengthening relations, especially serious interest in the project of "Trans-Eurasia Information Superhighway" coordinated by Azerbaijan.

The meeting also discussed new directions of cooperation with UN in the ICT field, as well as exchanged views on projects to be implemented current year.
