NATO committed to strengthening relations with Georgia
NATO is committed to strengthening bilateral relations with Georgia, US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said at a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Mindia Janelidze in Brussels.
"Georgia is one of the NATO most loyal partners,” he said. “We are advancing in the implementation of a package of measures agreed in Wales."

He said that NATO remains committed to the policy of "open doors" for all countries willing to join the North Atlantic Alliance. It waits for voting on Montenegro’s membership in the alliance this year.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on February 5 that the NATO member-states and partner-countries will hold military exercises in Georgia on the basis of a permanent training center by late 2015.

Earlier, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly urged all NATO member-states to give Georgia a Membership Action Plan at the Wales summit as a sign of recognizing the country’s success towards integration into NATO and its contribution to the international security.

The Membership Action Plan in the alliance is the NATO program, designed for the consultations, rendering assistance and practical support in accordance with the individual needs of the countries wishing to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
