NATO to establish permanent groups in Georgia
NATO will establish the permanent groups of experts to promote the military reforms in Georgia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said following a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission at the level of defense ministers Feb. 5.
These groups will be in Georgia permanently.

The sides also confirmed that NATO and Georgia will establish a NATO permanent training center in Tbilisi.

"Several NATO member-states announced that they will participate in establishing a training center and working out a NATO package of measures for Georgia,” Stoltenberg told reporters. Moreover, the US will be a key country in the NATO exercises in Georgia."

Earlier, he said that more than 10 NATO member-states will be involved in the training center establishment, which will be located in Tbilisi.

Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze said that Georgia will finally determine the center site after NATO experts’ visit.

"By the end of February, we will exactly determine the training center site," he said.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General`s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai said that the NATO-Georgia joint training center will not be directed against Russia. It will be symbolic.
