Turkish FM refuses to participate in Munich Security Conference
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu refused to take part in the Munich Security Conference as the Israeli delegation will participate in it, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Feb.6.
Earlier, it was expected that Turkish foreign minister will address the Munich Security Conference.

The relations between Turkey and Israel seriously deteriorated after an Israeli special mission unit seized the Turkish Mavi Marmara ship, which was part of the "Freedom Flotilla" moving to the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Nine Turkish citizens were killed as a result of this attack. However, Israel insists that its servicemen acted in self-defense.

Following the incident, the Turkish Defense Ministry decided in July 2010, to abandon joint naval exercises with Israeli Defence Forces.

Turkish and Israeli ambassadors were mutually recalled in September 2011.
