Baku 2017 announces results of Team Sport Draw
Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games on 6th April hosted the Team Sport Draw, ahead of the start of the Games on 12 May.
The Draw, which was broadcast live on national TV, featured five team sports, which will feature at the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games - football, volleyball, basketball 3x3, handball and water polo.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Baku from 12-22 May, although sporting competition will commence on 8 May with the preliminary rounds of the football, handball and volleyball competitions.

It is expected that athletes from 57 Islamic nations will compete in these Games, which will include 20 sports, including two para-sports.

The results of the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games Team Sports Draw are as follows:

Football:

Group A: Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Morocco

Group B: Palestine, Oman, Algeria, Turkey

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, the winners of these matches will compete in the Gold medal match. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for a Bronze medal.

Water Polo (Men): Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia

All teams will play each other once. The top three teams at the end of the competition will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.

Volleyball (women): Azerbaijan, Turkey, Cameroon, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan

All teams will play each other once, with the top four teams progressing to the semi-finals. The winners of these matches will compete in the Gold medal match. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for a Bronze medal

Volleyball (men):

Group A: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Palestine

Group B: Iran, Qatar, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Morocco

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of these matches will compete for Gold medal. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for Bronze.

Basketball 3x3 (women):

Group A: Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Mali, Afghanistan

Group B: Indonesia, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Pakistan

Basketball 3x3 (men):

Group A: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan

Group B: Indonesia, Qatar, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Jordan

The top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The winners of these matches will progress onto the semi-finals. From there the two winning teams will go on to compete in the Gold medal match. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for a Bronze medal

Handball (women): Cameroon, Uzbekistan, Côte d'Ivoire, Turkey, Azerbaijan

All teams will play each other once. After which the first two teams will compete in a Gold medal match. The third and fourth placed teams will play-off for a Bronze medal.

Handball (men):

Group A: Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan

Group B: Turkey, Morocco, Iraq, Afghanistan

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of these matches will compete for Gold medal. The losers of the semi-finals will compete for Bronze.
