He added that such rapprochement between Russia and Turkey will become a message for Europe.
“The project will strengthen Turkey's positions,” Balci said, adding that strong Turkey is always beneficial for Azerbaijan.
"The project will reduce the capabilities of Iran, as a supplier, by creating competition in the consumer market," the expert added.
The expert said that both Turkish Stream and Southern Gas Corridor will be the key projects to the energy supply of Europe, which needs favorable gas prices.
Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement October 10, 2016 on implementation of the Turkish Stream project.
Trans Adriatic Pipeline(TAP) is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor. The pipeline will connect to the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) on the Turkish-Greek border, run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Italy’s south.
TANAP, a part of the Southern Gas Corridor, is being currently constructed in Turkey.
