Baku 2017: Azerbaijani gymnasts advance to artistic gymnastics finals - UPDATED
Artistic gymnastics competitions kicked off at Baku’s National Gymnastics Arena as part of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
Azerbaijani gymnasts have reached the artistic gymnastics finals at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

Azerbaijan’s Yulia Inshina ranked the first by scoring 12,250 in the exercises on uneven bars and reached the finals.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s Ekaterina Tishkova scored 11,600 and also reached the finals. Moreover, Turkey’s Demet Mutlu and Ekin Morova, as well as Indonesia’s Rifda Irfanaluthfi and Tazsa Devira reached the artistic gymnastics finals.

Azerbaijan’s Marina Nekrasova and Yulia Inshina also advanced to finals of vault exercises. Moreover, Uzbekistan’s Oksana Chusovitina, Turkey’s Demet Mutlu and Ekin Morova and Indonesia’s Rifda Irfanaluthfi and Armartiani Amartiani reached the finals.

Artistic gymnastics competitions kick off in Baku - Baku 2017

Men’s floor exercise qualification, parallel bars qualification and rings qualification will be held today. Meanwhile, women’s vault qualification and uneven bars qualification will also be held on May 13.

Azerbaijan will be represented by Murad Agharzayev, Bence Talas and Timur Bairamov in men’s competitions and by Marina Nekrasova, Yulia Inshina and Ekaterina Tishkova in women’s competitions.

President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Marinari Watanabe is observing the competitions.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
