Baku 2017: Azerbaijani athletes win gold medals - UPDATED
Azerbaijan’s Samir Nabiyev won a gold medal in men’s discus throw F57 event in para athletics by showing the result of 45.17 meters at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.
Jordan’s Amer Abdelaziz won a silver medal, while Egypt’s Metawa Abouelkhir won a bronze medal in men’s discus throw F57.

It should be recalled that on May 16, Nabiyev won a gold medal in men’s shot put F57 competitions.

Azerbaijani weightlifter Anastasia Ibrahimli (69 kg) won a gold medal at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

“I was well prepared for the Baku 2017,” Ibrahimli said at a press conference in Baku May 17. “Sometimes it is difficult to predict the result, but I have overcome all difficulties and won a gold medal.”

Azerbaijani athletes have won gold medals in mixed team 10 m air pistol competitions at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

The first Azerbaijani shooters team of Ruslan Lunev and Nigar Nasirova defeated Oman’s team and won gold medals.

The first Iranian team ranked third.

The second Azerbaijani shooters team of Rasul Mammadov and Zarifa Gasimova ranked seventh.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
