Leyla Aliyeva initiates children`s visit to Cathedral Square in Moscow Kremlin

At the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, on the occasion of the International Children`s Day, pupils of Moscow school No 157 and the Sunday school students of the Temple of Christ the Saviour and St. Daniel Monastery were invited to the ceremonial gathering of horse and foot guards at the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin.

With the logistical support of the Russian representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Russian Cultural Foundation, the children participated in the traditional ceremony with soldiers of the Presidential Regiment and the young students of the Children`s ceremonial horse team and riders of the Kremlin riding school team.

The Russian office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the International Children`s Day Foundation gave the children greetings of Leyla Aliyeva and presented gifts to them. Sweets, colourful toys and educational games gave the kids a festive mood.

In an interview to AzerTAj, Honoured Artist of Russia, Vice-President of the Russian Cultural Foundation, director of the Directorate of International Programs Tatiana Shumova said this year, the children will see not only a military gathering but also a show of young riders. "I am very pleased that we together with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation arranged this festival for Azerbaijani children who are studying in Moscow. Today, at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the children of the Sunday school of the Temple of Christ the Saviour and the Danilov Monastery were also able to see this colourful show," she said.

The event brought together more than 1,000 Moscow students, including children of subordinate agencies of the Department of Social Protection (children left without parental care, single parent families, low-income families, children with disabilities), the Public Relations Committee (House of children`s organizations), and the Department of Education.

The gathering of ceremonial horse and foot guards, dedicated to the International Children`s Day, has been held since 2007.
