Azerbaijani foreign ministry condemns shooting in Copenhagen
The Azerbaijani foreign ministry has condemned the shooting in Copenhagen.

"Azerbaijan condemns the shooting in Copenhagen and expresses its condolences to the families of those killed and injured," the foreign ministry’s statement says.

A man in Copenhagen opened fire on the police officers near Norreport station, TASS reported.

The law enforcement officers were forced to use service weapons. The man was killed, the police of the Danish capital reported.

The Norreport station is located near the site of one of the armed attacks in the city on February 14 and 15.

Two people were killed and five were injured.

In both cases, the criminals managed to escape.

A man riddled Krudttønden café with an automatic weapon on Feb. 14 at 18:00 (Moscow time). "Art, blasphemy and freedom of speech" was publicly discussed in this café.

By making about 40 shots, the man escaped in a stolen Volkswagen Polo car, which was later found about 2 km from the crime scene.

The police said that a 25-30 year-old man of Arabic appearance was wanted in connection with the attack.

The shots were also heard near the synagogue on Kristalgade Street, located about three kilometers from the site of the first attack.

Security measures were stepped up in Copenhagen after an armed attack staged on Feb. 14.
