`Suspcious Letter` Found at Scene of Copenhagen Shooting

An area of Copenhagen was evacuated early Tuesday after a suspicious package was found outside a cafe, the scene of the Saturday shooting.

The package contained a suspicious letter, the local police confirmed to Sputnik news agency. “We can’t comment on the details of the letter other than that we’re investigating,” a police source told Sputnik. No explosives were found in the package, police said in a Twitter message:

"Investigation finished. No explosives. Cordon has been lifted.

On Saturday, February 14, gunman Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein, killed a man at the Krudttønden cafe in Copenhagen. At the time, the cafe was hosting a debate on free speech, featuring the author of cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad. On early Sunday, Hussein shot dead a man near a synagogue, according to the police. The shooter was gunned down by police officers hours later.

On Monday, Danish police said that they had charged two people with giving a helping hand to the man suspected of killing two people in attacks on a synagogue and an event promoting freedom of speech in Copenhagen last weekend.
