Security measures increased in Moscow due to holiday
Security measures in Moscow were strengthened due to the mass events planned in the city on the occasion of the Russia Day, the head of the city's regional security and anticorruption department, Vladimir Chernikov, said.
According to him, more than 10 thousand law enforcement officers maintain public order in the Russian capital, RIA Novosti reports.

Russia Day is one of the youngest national holidays. It was established by the country’s presidential decree of June 2, 1994. The Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia was adopted June 12, 1990.
