UK Embassy in Baku warns of possible delays in issuance of visas
The UK Embassy in Baku issued a statement in connection with a possible delay in the issuance of visas to citizens of Azerbaijan.
“A number of flights to dozens of cities, including Baku were canceled due to the heavy snowfall in Istanbul,” the embassy said Feb.19. “For this reason, there may be some delays in the issuance of visas or sending requests to Istanbul in connection with obtaining a visa.”

The processing center, where issuing visas to citizens of Azerbaijan is now considered, is located in Istanbul. The embassy advises citizens to track updates on the issuance of visas.

Heavy snowfall has fully paralyzed Istanbul’s transport system, the Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported Feb. 19.

Traffic was limited to a minimum in the city, while all the sea voyages were canceled in the Istanbul waters.

Turkish Airlines announced about the cancelation of 800 domestic and international flights in the morning of February 19.

Heavy snowfalls continue in Istanbul for the fourth straight day. At present, snow cover in different parts of Istanbul is 40-60 centimeters, the Turkish media reported.
