Vice President of Colombian Senate sends letter to Azerbaijani President on Khojaly genocide anniversary
“I declare our solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan over the Khojaly genocide”

Vice President of the Senate of Colombia Teresita García Romero has sent a letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

AzVision.az quotes the letters as follows:

“I extend to You my warmest greetings, wish you success in your country’s development and construction work, and deliver my best wishes to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is an example to prospering Colombia.

At the same time, I declare our solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan over the Khojaly genocide committed in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh on this significant date. This event has affected the lives of the entire nation.

As a country that has suffered from a conflict for more than 50 years, Colombia well comprehends the pain of losing its citizens, and today there are high hopes that the peace process initiated by President Santos will yield positive results.

In this respect, we reject the perpetuators of this event, declare our solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan on the eve of the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, and hope you find the way to peace.
