Azerbaijani Parliament speaker: Khojaly crime won
Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov said the Khojaly genocide is the most terrible of the tragedies the world has ever seen.

In his speech at the parliamentary meeting, Ogtay Asadov outlined that the Justice for Khojaly campaign initiated and led by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva has yielded good results, and that the parliaments of several countries as well as executive and legislative authorities of 15 US states recognized the Khojaly event as a genocide, APA reported.

“More than 20 MPs attend events on the Khojaly genocide organized in foreign countries,” he said.

Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova said the Armenians claim that former Azerbaijani President Ayaz Mutallibov and the Azerbaijan Popular Front had played a role in the Khojaly massacre.

“They say that a corridor had been opened for the Khojaly residents to leave the town. But the residents couldn’t leave, because the Azerbaijani Popular Front and Ayaz Mutallibov were struggling for power,” said Bahar Muradova.

B. Muradova added that the Armenian side was given necessary response at the PACE PA meeting. She also called on MPs to speak of the Khojaly genocide and focus their attention on this issue.
