Azerbaijani Defense Minister: Day of liberation of our lands is coming closer
Zakir Hasanov attended the opening of military unit on the frontline
The newly-built military unit equipped with modern facilities has been inaugurated in Azerbaijan, said the Defense Ministry.

The leadership of the Defense Ministry attended the opening of the military unit and reviewed the newly-commissioned headquarters, barrack-rooms, ammunition depot, square for line-up, canteen, medial station, heating system and other facilities.

Speaking before the military personnel, Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov said that thanks to the care and attention of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to military build-up the activities have recently been carried out in order to strengthen combat and moral-psychological readiness of the personnel, improve living conditions of the personnel and consolidate the material-technical base.

“Today we are opening a new military unit. This is the opening of the 3rd unit over the past few months. According to the plan, a few more units will be opened this year. The country`s leadership regards the development of the armed forces as one of the most important directions. Our armed forces are equipped with modern weapons and equipment, new military camps and service apartments are built for our soldiers, ensigns and officers to strengthen the social base of the personnel. It is thanks to the care and attention of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” said Hasanov.

The Minister noted that the Azerbaijani people and state have the only problem – the Nagorno Karabakh problem. He said important works are being done to resolve this issue and the strengthening of the Armed Forces is one of the most important priorities of the state.

“Increasing the combat readiness, maintaining a high level of combat capability our Armed Forces adequately fulfill the task of achieving an advantage over the enemy. Our people have recently commemorated the Khojaly tragedy. All of us, especially the personnel of the Armed Forces will never forget the genocide committed against our people. We are confident that the perpetrators of the Khojaly tragedy will be brought to justice and punished. The Armed Forces should be powerful not to let our people suffer from such a brutality again. We should enhance our combat capabilities and readiness to protect our people and liberate our lands inflicting a devastating blow on the enemy. A day of the liberation of our lands is coming. This day is coming closer as we are strengthening the Armed Forces every day, every moment, at every training. I wish you success in your service in this newly-built military unit. I wish you to improve your combat readiness, be fully ready to fulfill tasks set by the military unit at any time,” he said.

After the personnel passed by the tribune with ceremonial march, the Defense Ministry’s leadership sat at a dinner table along with servicemen.
