Lavrov, Kerry call for implementation of Minsk deals
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the United States` Secretary of State John Kerry stressed the need to comply with the February 12 Minsk accords during their talks in Geneva, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

"When discussing the problem of the Ukrainian crisis, both sides acknowledged the need to implement `The Set of Measures to Implement the Minsk Agreements` agreed upon on February 12 with the assistance of the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine and approved in the UN Security Council Resolution N2202," the ministry said on its website.
"[Lavrov] once again reminded of Kiev`s obligation to conduct a constitutional reform and grant a special status to Donbass," the ministry said.

John Kerry has described this meeting with Sergei Lavrov as frank.

Lavrov demands that Kiev immediately lift Donbas blockade

Kiev should immediately lift the blockade of Donbass and restore economic ties with the region, and Moscow is hoping for the assistance of the OSCE, the UN and the ICRC in this issue, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"The acute humanitarian situation in Donbass requires priority attention. To secure the elementary rights of its residents, the government of Ukraine should immediately lift the actual blockade of this region, restore economic ties, social payments, banking services, and freedom of travel between Donbass and other regions of the country," Lavrov said at the 28th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday.

"We firmly hope that the UN human rights and humanitarian structures and the OSCE and ICRC missions working in Ukraine will seek a prompt solution to these issues," Lavrov said.
