Ex-Armenian MP admits, “Metsamor” is similar to Chernobyl
“Currently, the technology and equipment of the Metsamor NPP are out of date and unusable”, former Armenian MP, Gagik Nersisyan told in his interview to the Armenian media.
“Russians are interested in the existence of this kind of nuclear station. The reason is that Russians manage the nuclear station. In fact, the nuclear stations must be considered as a Russian institution in Armenia. Our atomic power station is anachronism. In 1995, we attempted to restore the nuclear station and we did it. Nuclear station has never been restored in any other country. Our nuclear station is anachronism and its technologies are old.

The former MP also compared the Metsamor NPP to Chernobyl: “You know that the danger is more than you can see. Don’t forget Chernobyl. The technical problems caused the Chernobyl disaster. Our nuclear station is similar to Chernobyl. We have to consider it".
