WB vice president to visit Azerbaijan
The Vice-President of the World Bank (WB), Joachim von Amsberg will visit Azerbaijan on an official visit, the WB`s Baku Office told on Tuesday.
As the office informed, Amsberg, who will stay in Baku from 14 to 15 June, supervises issues of concessional financing and the work of the International Development Association (IDA).

"Azerbaijan has paid about half of the IDA debt before the expiration of time by paying $ 300 million. One of the goals of the visit is to recognize the services of the country`s government in this work," the bank informed.

The vice-president of the World Bank will hold a meeting at the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers.

As of January 1 2013, Azerbaijan held talks with the World Bank within the framework of 56 projects for the financing credit agreements totaling $3,122.3 million.

At present, the implementation of 36 projects worth of $894.1 million is completed, and now the execution of 20 projects worth of $2,228.2 million is being carried out. For January, 2013 the World Bank credits on the amount of $1,714.1 million, constituting 54.5 percent of the total amount of attracted credits were used. In 2012, Azerbaijan used $393.4 million dollars from the allocated credits.

In addition to these credits, in the years the World Bank allocated 44 grants totaling $ 41.37 million for Azerbaijan in 1995-2012.
