Azerbaijan to annex article on state secret to Criminal Code
An important article has been proposed to be annexed to the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

According to article #284-1 proposed to the Criminal Code, disclosure of the data, making state secret, documents containing the state secret and also subjects, data of which make the state secret by means of force or threat of force, intimidation or other means of coercion, abduction, deception, special or other technical means for obtaining confidential information, if there is no sign of treason or espionage is punished by 2 up to 5 years in prison, the Azerbaijani Parliament told.

Disclosure of state secrets is a criminal liability for government officials according to the current legislation,.

The draft law was recommended to the plenary session of the parliament and will be discussed on March 6.
